My one year reward

I had two hours of skiing today - I walked into a ski hire store, found clothes that fit, a fab pair of skis and hit the mountain. The knees held out for the time and I didn't push beyond the kneecap arthritic burn. They're sore tonight but I'm high as a kite.
Tomorrow was when I started my lapband journey - two weeks of Optifast in which I lost the first 4kg of the 25 that I've lost this past year. The ski was my reward - the first in six years. Six hours travel for a 2 hour ski but it was worth it. Yeah me.

Many congratulations Melanie - I first saw your blog in July last year when you described with pictures what the operation was like, (and the "I'm gorgeous" T shirt pictures) and all the information was part of what encouraged me to go ahead later in the year. 25 kilos loss is a tremendous achievement - I do hope you'll carry on updating your blog.
